Ice Dams

FACTS ABOUT SNOW & ICE: Ice dams are the result of interactions between the snow cover on the roof, outdoor temperature, and heat loss characteristics of the home. Most ice forms with moderate to heavy snow falls followed by daytime temperature range of 15F-25F. Ice dams and heavy snow have a potential to damage gutters, shingles and cause water to back up into the home. When water backs up into the home, results can be serious: cracking drywall & peeling paint, warping floors, and sagging ceilings. Severe cases involve soggy attics and wall cavities where mold and mildew become present. Camelot Construction & Development can help prevent ice dam issues. Camelot Construction also has the expertise to help assist you in making an insurance claim resulting from snow and ice.
